    My daughter recently broke two plates when unloading the dishwasher. I bought these as replacements. She started to drop one and tried to catch it with the other one. Both broke. This is earthenware so there has to be a certain amount of care in the handling. That stated, the dishes are well made and attractive.

    We wanted to get 2 sets of this and ended up ordering 4 and returning two. The glazing was inconsistent so we picked the best 8 of each item and returned the rest. Amazon’s shipping policy was very helpful in this. One thing to consider is that for whatever reason, the shape of the bowels has been changed and they do not fit our dishwasher (a top of the line Bosch ) very well.

    Outstanding quality, color and pattern are just varied enough to differentiate these from an obvious machine pattern. Do realize these are heavy pieces, nothing like your delicate china. Great for lovers of primitive pieces or a guy just looking for something masculine. They come exceptionally well packed and nothing was damaged. I’ve yet to see a chip and two teenagers are hard at work trying!

    This is my first set of dishes. The design i enjoyed, simple yet elegant. They have a sturdy feel, yet i have not dropped nor nicked one. been careful washing them by hand and not in the dishwasher. Id recommend anyone who wants a great starter set of dishes.
